Struggling to find the right role for you?  Unsatisfied with the career path that you’re currently taking and in need of some motivational ways to spur on your job hunt?

The recruitment process can be a long and tedious one, trying your patience, and not moving quite as fast as you may want it to.  The best advice that can be given when it comes to finding a job is try, try, and try again.

Although not as plain and simple as this, a lot has to be said for putting the time and effort into your job hunt or career search and trying to take hold of the direction in which you are moving.

If you are not currently working then stay motivated by getting up each day and preparing as if you were going to work – a job hunt after all is like work in itself with all the effort of CVs, cover letters, and applications that can often create little response!  By getting up and getting going you will give yourself a psychological boost and greater confidence and motivation in your search.

Remember to also try and take feedback at every occasion, whether that be chasing feedback from an interview or getting someone else to look over an application in order to get their opinion and look for ways for potential improvement.

Try to stay focused on the new opportunities that a job hunt can bring – If you are looking for a new opportunity because your current position isn’t right for you anymore then strive for what you do want and what you know will make you happy.  The more you put yourself out there the more likely you are to find the right role for you.

Job hunting can be an emotional roller coaster but it must be remembered that it represents a time of change, something that can be looked on positively and seen as a good thing.  Use a job hunt to reassess your goals and think about what you really want, and take it as an opportunity for self-development and making the best out of yourself.

Remember there’s more to life than work and you should also take time to do things that you enjoy, in order to have greater focus when it comes to writing those applications.  Keep trying and stay motivated and you will secure yourself your dream opportunity in no time!
