Our client is a global automotive organisation who is looking to recruit an experienced Regional Logistics Manager - UK Export to work at their export facility in Southampton. Travel to 2 southern based sites will also be required. The successful individual will assume responsibility for all logistics activities from factory to dealer, ensuring the maximum satisfaction of their European customers, whilst maintaining agile, flexible and cost effective logistics. This role involves responsibility for managing the physical logistics operations for export in the UK for all export vehicles. Such operations include storage, preparation and delivery to port of overseas arrival.

Responsibilities:
Overseeing and supporting the day to day operations of storage, vehicle preparation and delivery of customer vehicles to overseas compounds via various transportation methods.
Management of service suppliers to achieve timely, flexible and cost effective logistics
Translating overall requirements into clear operations targets for daily management
Liaising with Regional Managers across the European region to understand and satisfy customer requirements

Skills required:
Strong background in multi-modal logistics including seafreight (sea freight), airfreight and road freight from either a logistics provider of manufacturing organisation. Previous automotive experience advantageous.
High level of ability to analyse problems and recommend logical and practical countermeasures.
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills, developed through previous experience in a pressurised job role.
The ability to deal with and build relationships with people at all levels inside and outside the business.
Excellent level of numeracy and literacy.

Position: Export Manager / Seafreight Manager / Logistics Manager
Salary: £35-42,000 plus pension scheme, private healthcare and discounted employee car scheme.
Based: Southampton, Hampshire
